Check inventory in the pantry, fluff up that chef's hat and prepare your best apron — CDAIDE's Chef Challenge is Oct. 13.

Taking place at the Hagadone Event Center, CDAIDE's second Chef Challenge will feature six top regional chefs as they compete in a series of kitchen challenges and a judged cooking competition.

Attendees will enjoy tasting and judging chef-prepared appetizers and voting for a mystery ingredient to be included in the cooking competition.

Last year’s event was attended by nearly 200 people, with guests describing it as “exciting" and "inventive."

The challenge will benefit local hospitality workers who are experiencing financial crises. Workers in the restaurant and hospitality industry in North Idaho are especially vulnerable, often lacking supportive relationships and access to resources that can see them through a crisis or prevent the slide into homelessness.

CDAIDE, a nonprofit, serves Coeur d’Alene-area hospitality workers by meeting their immediate needs, connecting them with resources for long-term self-sufficiency and ensuring they feel valued, respected and loved.

Tickets are $125 each at: auctria.events/CDAIDEChefChallenge
