WALLET: Who sleeps better at night?

To the person who “found/stole” my wallet from Fred Meyer’s self-checkout on Sept. 6:

• The credit and debit cards were shut down very quickly — doubt they did you any good.

• The insurance ID cards and other membership cards won’t be of much value either.

• The well-worn picture of my wife and I at Silver Dollar City’s “Old Time Christmas” in 2008 cannot be replaced but we have the memories.

• The wallet itself — now that hurt. I had a hard time finding a wallet that really suited me and now its gone.

Then there was the $150 or so in cash. We are retired and live on a fixed income. That’s a little over a week’s worth of groceries to us in these inflationary times. But we’ll do just fine. Not only that, we can look at ourselves in the mirror without any sense of shame — wondering if the same is true for you. Hope you have had a nice week and enjoyed the “gift.”
