Yanik receives Erik Bruhjell Memorial Scholarship
The Bonner County Democrats have announced that Caiya Yanik, a 2022 graduate from Clark Fork High School, is the recipient of the Erik Bruhjell Memorial Scholarship.
Yanik was presented the scholarship this summer.
Neuder named to dean's list
Julia Neuder of Sandpoint has been named to the spring 2022 dean's list at Pacific University in Oregon. The dean's list recognizes undergraduate students in Pacific's colleges of Arts & Sciences, Business and Education who earn a grade-point average of at least 3.70 and complete 12 or more graded credit hours.
Pacific University serves nearly 4,000 students in undergraduate, graduate and professional programs in the arts and sciences, business, education, optometry and health professions.
EOU announces spring dean's list
A Bonner County student is among those named by Eastern Oregon University to the dean's list for the 2022 spring term. Qualifying students must achieve and maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale while completing a minimum of 12 hours of graded EOU coursework.
Earning a spot on the list was Justin Jeske of Priest River.
EOU officials congratulated each of the students, and acknowledged their dedication to academic excellence.
EOU announces spring 2022 graduates
Eastern Oregon University awarded 717 degrees during the 2021-2022 academic year.
Earning a bachelor of science degree in business administration is Justin Jeske of Priest River.
EOU officials extended congratulations to the class of 2022 and said they take great pride in the achievement of all alumni.
As Oregon's rural university, EOU serves students at its main campus in La Grande, as well as online and at 11 regional centers across the state.
USU announces first-year students
Utah State University is excited to welcome more than 4,500 first-year college students to campus as the university begins the fall 2022 semester.
The following local students were admitted and have begun college.
• Madison Duke of Sandpoint will attend USU at the USU main campus.
• Tiffany Brown of Sandpoint will attend USU at the USU main campus.
• Benjamin Corbridge of Sandpoint will attend USU at the USU main campus.

Baylor announces academic honors
More than 4,800 Baylor University students have been named to the dean’s academic honor list for the spring 2022 semester.
Among them is Caleb Fingel of Sandpoint, who is a member of the Hankamer School of Business.
The list recognizes Baylor undergraduates for their outstanding academic work during each semester. Students honored on the dean’s list earned a minimum semester grade-point average of 3.70 with no grade lower than a "C" while enrolled in at least 12 graded semester hours.
Baylor provides numerous academic and research opportunities across various disciplines through 126 baccalaureate programs in fields as varied as business, engineering, nursing, pre-medicine, music and computer science, along with 80 master's programs, 47 doctoral programs (including the J.D.), the education specialist program and master of laws program.
Badger earns dean's list honors
Nathaniel Badger of Sandpoint, Idaho, was named to the dean's list at Bates College for the winter semester ending in April 2022. This is a distinction earned by students whose grade point average is 3.92 or higher.
Badger, the son of Lance C. Badger and Claude D. Goldberg, is a 2017 graduate of Battle Mountain High School. He is a senior at Bates majoring in economics and minoring in anthropology.
Located in Lewiston, Maine, Bates is internationally recognized as a leading liberal arts college, attracting 2,000 students from across the U.S. and around the world.
Eastern announces spring dean's list
Eastern Washington University has announces its spring dean's list, which is released after every fall, winter and spring quarter. A number of Bonner County students have earned a spot on the list.
The fall and spring quarter lists also include students on the semester system. An undergraduate student who earns 12 quality hours (QHRS) and receives a GPA of 3.5 or better is placed on the dean's list.
Among those who earned a spot of the spring dean's list are
Graci Allen of Laclede, Whitney Lane of Blanchard, Lillian Nolan of Priest River, and Kara Slater of Oldtown.
Gonzaga announces president's list honors
The following local residents have earned placement on the Gonzaga University President's List for spring semester 2022. Students must earn a 3.85 to 4.0 grade-point average to be listed.
Joseph Parsley of Sagle is among those who earned a spot on the president's list.

Local residents named to GU dean's list
The following local residents have earned placement on the Gonzaga University dean's list for spring semester 2022. Students must earn a 3.5 to 3.84 grade-point average to be listed.
Earning a spot on the list are Samuel Hendricks of Sagle, Katherine Mellander of Sandpoint, and Bailey Stapleton.

A Sagle resident is among those who participated in Gonzaga University's graduation exercises on May 8.
Sofia Carriera received a bachelor of science in biology.
Gonzaga offers 75 fields of study,?26 master's degrees, doctorate degrees in leadership studies and nursing, and a juris doctor degree through the School of Law.
ISU announces spring dean's list
Approximately 9,500 Iowa State University students have been recognized for outstanding academic achievement by being named to the spring semester 2022 dean's list.
Christina May Tefft who is pursuing engineering specialist honors (non-degree).
Students named to the dean's list must have earned a grade point average of at least 3.50 on a 4.0 scale while carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded course work.
McPherson College announces honor roll
Theodore Flint of Sagle has earned a spot on the McPherson College honor roll.
McPherson College, a four-year private college located in central Kansas, recognizes its highest academic achievers in its spring 2022 honor roll and honorable mention.
To qualify for the honor roll, students must be a full-time student and earn a grade point average of 3.55 or higher during the previous term. Students earning a grade point average of 3.25 to 3.54 are named to the honorable mention.
McPherson College offers more than 20 bachelor's and pre-professional programs with curriculum that emphasizes entrepreneurship and career-focused education.
LC State releases spring honor roll
A number of area students are among the 870 students at Lewis-Clark State College who earned honor roll distinction for the spring 2022 semester, LC State administrators have announced. Among the honorees, 471 made the president’s list while 399 were named to the dean’s list.
To qualify for the president's list students must have a 3.75 grade point average or higher for the semester and take at least 12 graded credits in level 100 classes or above. The dean's list uses the same requirements but students must have a GPA between 3.25 and 3.749.

Badger graduates Bates College
Nathaniel Badger of Sandpoint graduated after majoring in economics and minoring in anthropology at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. Badger, the son of Lance C. Badger and Claude D. Goldberg, is a 2017 graduate of Battle Mountain High School.
Badger was granted the Bates Senior Scholar Award, an honor bestowed upon graduating seniors who have participated in varsity sports for four years and have maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above.
Bates College graduated 477 students from 39 U.S. states and 40 nations on May 29, 2022.
