Peters, a senior, won the girls race at the Timberlake Invitational in 17 minutes, 38.4 seconds at Farragut State Park on Saturday, breaking the meet record held by former Trojan Sammie Wood (18:03.1). Her time is the top mark in the state for 5A girls. "She has always prepared well for the season," Post Falls coach Brian Trefry said. "This season, she is adapting to her role on the team by just focusing on having fun while she runs."
