ST. MARIES — The St. Maries Lumberjacks started strong, then rallied to capture the fourth set to finish off the Kellogg Wildcats 25-19, 22-25, 25-18, 25-20 in Central Idaho League play Tuesday night.
Stacie Mitchell had 12 kills for St. Maries (5-3, 2-0 CIL). Mia Asbury had six kills, nine digs and four aces, Ava Stancil nine kills, Taci Watkins seven kills, Lily Daniel 32 assists, Abby Wilks nine digs, Berkli McGreal seven digs.
“We had a goal of coming in blazing in game one; we need to start our games off better as the past two games we have started off the night slow,” St. Maries coach Rachele Fischer said. “Proud of how they all worked together, and seeing the contributions for the win by everyone — they couldn’t have done it if every player wasn’t all in. Great to see the girls celebrate big and small, and the encouragement they were providing each other. It was a good win and they all deserve it.”
Kellogg fell to 4-2, 3-1.
St. Maries travels to Grangeville on Saturday.
