SANDPOINT — The Sandpoint Bulldogs led by as much as eight points in the second set before falling to the Lakeland Hawks 25-19, 25-23, 25-15 in Inland Empire League volleyball Thursday night at Les Rogers Court.

Vivian Platte had eight kills and four blocks for Sandpoint (1-8, 0-4 IEL). Hailey Swaim added 16 assists, Amaya Russel and Hailey McAuliffe 10 digs each for the Bulldogs.

“Hailey McAuliffe had one of the best nights of volleyball we’ve seen her play,” Sandpoint coach Karen Alsager said.

Sandpoint plays at the Linda Sheridan Classic tonight and Saturday in Spokane.
