HAYDEN LAKE — Coeur d’Alene High senior Luke West shot an even-par 72 to earn medalist honors in the Jim Kraus Invitational at Avondale Golf Club on Friday.

Coeur d’Alene captured the team title with a 302, with Lewiston second (325) and Lake City third (327).

The teams will compete at the Sandpoint Invitational on Monday at The Idaho Club.

Vikings take second

at Mitchell tourney

HAYDEN LAKE — Coeur d’Alene’s Stella Dietz was the top local finisher, taking second with a 90 in the Susan Mitchell Invitational at Hayden Lake Country Club.

Abbigail Tellez of Lewiston won the tournament with an 85, leading the Bengals for the team title.

The teams will compete at the Sandpoint Invitational on Monday at The Idaho Club.

HARRISON FLATS — Megan Hull had 10 aces and nine assists as the visiting Miners beat the Warriors 25-5, 25-8, 25-10 in nonleague play.

Britany Phillips had 10 aces, Lacey Dye five kills for Wallace (5-3), which travels to Genesis Prep on Tuesday.

Hannah Stiles had eight digs, Keira Bohannon six for Kootenai (0-7).

“Wallace has a great program. The girls have definitely increased in their serving accuracy and skill,” Kootenai coach Lacey Bohannon said of her team. “There are still holes that they need to work on, but they are coming along.

“Callie Smith really pushed herself tonight. She hustled to get to some wild balls and had some great saves. She continues to get better every week.”

Kootenai travels to Clark Fork on Tuesday.

ROCKFORD, Wash. — Maddie Daigle had a hat trick for the Panthers in a nonleague win over the Scotties.

Rebekah Hines had two goals and an assist for Coeur d’Alene Charter.

“The girls came out a little nervous knowing that Freeman is tough competition for us,” Coeur d’Alene Charter coach Stacy Smith said. “However, in the moments that really mattered, we capitalized. Our upperclassmen leaders took the reins and the rest of the team followed suit. Bekah’s on-ball savvy put a few early goals in for us and Maddie followed suit with a pair late in the first half. This was a good test for us and a very solid team win.”

Coeur d’Alene Charter (9-0-0) faces Post Falls at The Fields in Post Falls tonight at 7.
