Author Talk explores dementia's impact, toll
BRENDEN BOBBY Contributing Writer | Bonner County Daily Bee | UPDATED 2 years, 4 months AGO
The library will continue our local Author Talks series this week with Carolyn Birrell, author of "Walking With Fay", a heartwarming and emotional true story of the author’s experience taking care of her mother suffering from dementia.
It’s a genuine story that’s relatable for anyone that may have experienced this long and torturous farewell in the past, or for those that may be staring down the metaphorical barrel ahead of them and their family. Carolyn offers her own insights from her experience and gives the reader tools to navigate their own twisting path, while offering great nuggets of humor and wisdom along the way.
Carolyn Birrell will be at the Sandpoint Library to read from her book and answer and sign copies on Thursday, Sept. 29, at 5:30 p.m. Keep an eye out on the library’s website for my interview with Caroyln, and be sure to check out her website at carolynbirrell.com for more information, links to purchase the book for yourself or her other interviews.
If you are struggling with a family member suffering from Alzheimer’s or dementia, this is a great opportunity to link up with Carolyn and a member of the North Idaho Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association that can help you with questions, concerns or any needs. We hope to see you at the event.
