The good teams bounce back from adversity and go on to better things.
That can likely be said of the Thompson Falls Lady Hawks high school volleyball team and they continue to push on from a pair of setbacks.
The Lady Hawks took out any angst they may have had from the losses to Anaconda and Bonners Ferry, Idaho by hammering the Lady Bulldogs from Mission in a 3-0 sweep this past Thursday evening in T-Falls.
The first set of the match looked like it had the potential to go more three games, as the Lady Hawks had to battle all the way in before pulling away at the end and taking a 25-20 victory. The win put them up 1-0 in the match.
T-Falls cranked it up a notch for the next two sets, downing Mission 25-17 and 25-16 to record another 3-0 set sweep on the year.
The win boosted the Lady Hawks to 5-2 overall and 2-0 in Western B conference action.
And they home team was once again led by the up front play of senior Avery Burgess and Ellie Baxter. Baxter racked up 17 assists to go with her two blocks, while Burgess once again led the team in “kills”, getting credit for 13. Natalie Roberts also had a solid game with four service aces and six digs.
The work by the Thompson Falls trio helped offset a fine night by Mission’s Gabby Smith, who had 14 assists and 13 digs.
The match was part of Homecoming week's activities.
Next up on the Lady Hawks schedule is a road game this Thursday at Troy, followed by a home game versus Bigfork this Saturday.
