Hanford B Reactor tour

The Quincy Valley Historical Society and Museum is sponsoring a road trip to take a tour of the world’s first full-scale nuclear reactor. The tour of the Hanford B Reactor, part of the Hanford Reach National Monument, will be conducted by from the U.S. Department of Energy. Bus leaves the museum, 415 F St. SW, at 9 a.m. Tickets are $45 per person and include lunch. Advance registration is available at the QVHSM website, www.qvhsm.org.

“Sing On!”

The Masquers Theater troupe presents “Sing On!” each weekend in April. The play, written by Rick Abbot, presents the story of Phyllis Montague, who wants to become a “Bess Booster” – someone who feels Queen Elizabeth I was completely misunderstood by historians. She and a family member have written a musical as their entry into a contest to become a “Bess Booster” and the local theater group signs up to reach for the prize money, even though they know Montague is a bit of an odd duck. $10–$16. Road trip!

Take a drive to Fullbright Park in Union Gap for the Old Steel Car Show which is celebrating its 26th year of classic cars. The Central Washington Agricultural Museum at 4508 Main Street will host the show along with demonstrations, a 50/50 drawing and show car competitions. Bloomers on the Bench

Cactus in bloom will be the subject of a road trip sponsored by the Quincy Valley Historical Society and Museum. The “Bloomers on the Bench” tour will feature the blooming cactus along the Babcock Bench southwest of Quincy. Because the tour involves a hike, participants must be able to hike for 20 minutes and stand for a prolonged period of time. Busl leaves the museum at 10 a.m. $25 per person.
