The weather came out to play Thursday at the FVCC tennis courts and it brought a little bit of everything – rain, snow, wind and a little sunshine.

Flathead and Glacier showed up too, and braved the elements.

The Wolfpack swept its crosstown opponent; the boys 8-0, and girls 5-3.

“It was a good day,” Glacier coach Josh Munro said. “A little cold. But the kids had some really good play overall.”

A late-starting No. 3 girls singles match was perhaps the marquee of the day, lasting nearly three hours. Flathead’s Elle Westover defeated Claire Ennis 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 in the marathon match.

“It was good experience,” Munro said. “Claire’s becoming a marathon player… Good play from both of them.”

Singles players Alexis Kersten and Isabella Parrott also won for Flathead.

Glacier won all four singles matches, led by Haven Speer and Sarah Downs and Colette Daniels and Katy Bitney.

The Wolfpack boys are 4-0 in duals this spring and though it’s early on, Munro sees the potential.

”The boys are definitely tough, there's no doubt,” Munro said.

Will Rudbach and Kutuk White headed up the boys singles wins, while Harrison Sanders and Timmy Glanville won at No. 1 doubles.

Up next for Flathead and Glacier is a trip to C.M. Russell and Great Falls on Saturday.

“It will be a real test this weekend with CMR, we know what they look like on paper but should be quite the test,” Munro said.
