COEUR d'ALENE — A Spokane man was sentenced Tuesday for aggravated assault, driving under the influence and obstructing an officer in Hayden last year.

First Judicial District Judge Susie Jensen sentenced Seth L. Cervin, 41, to five years in prison with parole eligibility after three years for aggravated assault and the maximum 180 days for both DUI and obstructing an officer.

The charges stemmed from an incident Sept. 17 at the Lancaster Market where Cervin repeatedly rammed his vehicle into another, occupied by a family of five as they waited in line at the drive-thru, a press release said.

Cervin then crashed into several other unoccupied vehicles and resisted officers as he tried to flee the area, the release said.

After his arrest, Cervin refused to provide officers with a breath sample.

Before he was taken to jail, Cervin was taken to Kootenai Health, where his blood-alcohol content was .38 — more than four times the legal limit, the release said.

Cervin’s criminal history includes two DUIs, one in 2004 and the other in 2018.
