PARKING METERS TO BE ADDED IN CITY

To cope with anticipated parking congestion in the downtown, the city council is considering extension of the parking meter area. Mayor Donald J. Diehl said two factors are expected to aggravate congestion. One will be the increase in tourists attracted by the community’s advertising campaign. Second is construction of a new service station set to start next week at Second and Cedar. The construction will be on property which has been used as a community parking lot and which accommodates a large number of vehicles.
