CHRISTIAN BOOK STORE MEETS NEED
“This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24.” This Bible verse is daily bread for Rosemary Raynor, proprietor of the Agape Christian Book Store, located at 407 Oak St. facing the IGA parking lot. After Mrs. Raynor, a Sandpoint resident since 1962, was healed of a severe back injury last year, she felt inspired to open a Christian bookstore to meet the needs of the community. When the bookstore became a reality in December, 1972, it was opened with only 50 books, but now has a good and growing variety. The bookstore was named from the word “Agape,” a Greek word used in the New Testament meaning “the perfect, divine love of God.” The Agape Christian Book Store is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. six days a week.
