CWU to Host Wildcat Open this Saturday

ELLENSBURG – The Central Washington University Wildcats will host their only at-home meet this season on Saturday and will incorporate honoring their 22 seniors at the event, according to a statement from the school.
"We are excited to be home this week. It is always a bonus to get to compete in front of the home crowd and avoid the effects of travel on the body. We look forward to continuing to build on the momentum we have been generating during April as we draw closer to Championship season,” said Head Coach Kevin Adkisson.
The meet will be held at the CWU Recreation Sports Complex in Ellensburg. Competition starts at 10 a.m. with the hammer throw and the first track event of the day is the men’s 10,000-meter race at 11 a.m.
The team’s 22 seniors, listed here, will be honored at the event: Braydon Maier, McCall DeChenne, Lauryn Chandler, Austin Albertin, Erica Cabanos, Ty Savely, Angus Beaton, Mercedes Pesina, Zack Sundt, Chris Hines, Brenna Board, Zoie Mastin, Shun Yamaguchi, Meredith Massey, Kiarra Green, Shawn Clough, Deylan Okinaka, Spencer Solvberg, Jenna Heesacker, Jancy Sykes, Tre Silva and Reilly Williams.
Following the recognition ceremony, the 4x400 relay will end the day with that race starting at about 5 p.m.

Eggers, Grossman lead Eagles to Big Sky-Summit League sweep

Eagles fall to Sacramento State, focus on Senior Day finale
CHENEY – Eastern fell in straight sets to Sacramento State on Wednesday night, according to a statement from EWU athletics. The Eagles were led by Kalista Lukovich and Alyssa Radke with seven kills apiece, while Elle Bruegman anchored the defense with 14 digs. Eastern also continued to showcase one of its season-long strengths at the net, out-blocking the Hornets 9–3 with seven solo blocks.
Cai earns First GNAC Player of the Week honor of 25-26
ELLENSBURG — Central Washington University Women's Basketball senior guard Asher Cai opened the 2025-26 season with a big splash at the CCAA-GNAC Crossover to garner her the GNAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week the conference announced Monday afternoon.
