Household hazardous waste collection event to be held Saturday

MOSES LAKE – The Grant County Public Works Department announced there will be a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event near Moses Lake this Saturday, April 29.
The announcement states the event is for households only, waste must be in containers that are five gallons or less and the containers will not be removed.
Commonly accepted wastes include the following: paints, stains, paint thinners, aerosols, gasoline, yard chemicals, fertilizers, motor oil, antifreeze, pool chemicals, corrosives, rechargeable batteries, fluorescent bulbs, tubes, and more.
The event will be on April 29 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 12171 Wheeler Rd, Moses Lake.

Kennewick woman killed in Othello-area collision
OTHELLO — A Kennewick woman was killed when she ran into a semitruck at the intersection of SR 26 and South Booker Road early Thursday morning.

OTHELLO — State Route 26 is closed due to a fatality collision between a car and a semitruck near South Booker Road about four miles east of Othello, according to information from the Washington State Patrol and the Washington Department of Transportation. Coeur d'Alene to host fair housing training
