Ron Tarrant, 85, passed peacefully into the arms of his Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, with his wife, Anne, at his side. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, mentor and businessman.

Ron was born on May 25, 1937, in Saginaw, Mich., to William (Bill) and Lena Tarrant. After graduating from Arthur Hill High School, Ron attended Asbury University in Wilmore, Ky. At that time, Ron was considering a life in the Ministry, however, Ron chose to pursue business and started his career in sales with the Square D Company and started raising a family. His career in Industrial Electrical Supply took Ron back to Michigan and then to Seattle. In Seattle, he was blessed with meeting his spouse, Anne, and his career continued to flourish; Ron retired from Flow International Corporation as chairman, president and CEO. Ron also served as a board member for several corporations and organizations, his most memorable being serving on the board of his alma mater Asbury University for 19 years.

Through the years Ron’s business activities required him to travel around the world. For some of his travels, Anne was able to travel with him and they were able to make several global personal trips as well. Ron would also jump on a plane at a moment’s notice to see a friend in need. Ron’s favorite destinations were Hawaii, Italy and Israel.

Ron was known for several unique things: such as he never experienced jet lag much to the amazement of his peers and colleagues, he was mistaken for Jon Voight on numerous occasions, his pocket squares, global quest for the best gelato, good popcorn, Tommy Bahama clothing, a good joke, teasing and pulling a prank or two.

Ron is survived by the love of his life, Anne; his sons, Gregory (Melinda), Bradley, Kurt; his seven grandchildren: Danielle (David), Jonathan (Heather), Sarah, Katelyn, Leah, Brooke and Michaela; his eight great-grandchildren: Cooper, Taya, Brynnlee, Levi, Kiera, Emma, Auna and Joshua; his beloved cousin, Sue; and many nieces and nephews. Ron was very proud of his family and prayed for them by name daily.

A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Lake City Church, 6000 N. Ramsey Road, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. The family would like to thank Crest Home Health for their outstanding care and Hospice of North Idaho for their help in his last days. In lieu of flowers, the family would request donations to Asbury University, One Macklem Drive, Wilmore, KY 40390 (asbury.edu) to further the spiritual and educational development of their students or to Lake City Church (lakecity.church).

Yates Funeral Home is entrusted with final arrangements. Please visit Ron’s online memorial and sign his guestbook at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
