Badgers soar at PR Invite, duo places at Mooberry Relays

PRIEST RIVER — Bonners Ferry boys and girls track and field teams finished third and fourth overall at the 26th annual Priest River Track and Field Invitational on Saturday.
Badger girls finished fourth with 86 points and the boys took third at 84.5 points out of 14 teams.
Riley Petesch won the 110m hurdles with a new personal record of 16.45 and the triple jump at 40’ 8.5. He took second in the high jump at 5’ 8.
Aiden Beggerly won the long jump with a mark of 19’ 5.5.
The Badgers boys also took third in the 4X440m relay and fourth in 4X200m and Sprint medley relay.
The Badgers soared in the field events with Ryland Meador taking third in the shot put at 40’ 10.5, a new PR. Shiloh Barry took fourth in the discus with a new PR at 114’6, followed closely by fellow Badger Chandler Swanson at 113’ 4.
For the girls, Brooke Petesch took third in the 800m race with a PR at 2:34.66.
Mia Blackmore took second in the 100m hurdles at 17.88 and third in the 300m hurdles at 54.75.
In relays, the girls took first in the SMR at 2:03.71. The team included Majassa Allred, Paige Sartell, Sydney Hinthorn and Brooke Petesch. The Badgers also took third in the4X200m relay.
In throwing events, Hallie Hartman took first at 31’ 6.75 and second in the discus at 99’ 6. Hana Hartman took fourth in the discus at 93’ 7.
Markynn Pluid took second in the high jump at 4’ 8, Maggie Weaver took third at 4’ 6.
The Badgers compete at the Timberlake Invitaional on Friday. The first event is at 2:30 p.m. The District is May 4.
Abubakari and Rae win and place at Mooberry Relays
SPOKANE—- Badger field athletes Asha Abubakari and Helen Rae competed at the Mooberry Relays on April 22, at Rogers High School facing 19 Washington teams.
Abubakari took first in the shot put and discus with throws of 40–11.00 and 127-10, a new PR. She also took fifth in the long jump at 15-07.25.
Rae took third in the shot put at 36–04.5 and seventh in the discus at 100-08.
