Public invited to ad hoc homeless committee meeting Tuesday

Those wishing to participate in a meeting regarding where to put RVs used as primary residences may attend Tuesday at city hall.

MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake city’s Ad Hoc Homeless Committee will hold a public meeting to solicit input on the future site of the city’s proposed homeless RV parking site in the city council chambers on Tuesday, May 2, at 6 p.m.
The public meeting to solicit citizen input comes after a proposal to use a portion of the city dog park located near the intersection of Central Drive and N. Paxson Drive as temporary parking for homeless residents who live in their vehicles. Many of those vehicles are parked along N. Central Drive between Home Depot and Goodwill Industries.
“We need to hear from all citizens, and I encourage more participation,” Deputy Mayor Deanna Martinez said during the previous meeting’s discussion on homelessness in Moses Lake.

In this spirit, the city of Coeur d’Alene will soon provide a free “Fair Housing and Hot Topics” training. Partnering with Intermountain fair Housing Council, the event is slated for noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 6 at the Coeur d’Alene Public Library Community Room, 702 E. Front Ave.
