Coeur d'Alene Lumbermen to open

at regionals with Alaska program

The Coeur d'Alene Lumbermen 17U team will open at the Northwest American Legion 'A' Regional tournament against the Service Cougars of Anchorage, Alaska on Friday morning at 9 a.m. in Havre, Mont.

Coeur d'Alene advanced to regionals by winning the state championship on Sunday at Rodeo Park in Nampa. JNS Baseball of Idaho Falls also advanced as the Idaho state runner-up, and will face the Belgrade Bandits (32-10) on Friday at 3 p.m.

Washington State baseball to

play in Round Rock Classic

Washington State baseball will compete in the Karbach Round Rock Classic in Texas, Peak Events announced.

Peak Events, LLC, in partnership with Karbach Brewing Company, Go Round Rock and the Round Rock Express, are excited to announce the 2024 Karbach Round Rock Classic is set to return Feb. 23-25 to Dell Diamond. Other teams for the 2024 event are set to include Kentucky, Kansas and Texas State.

The Cougars are scheduled to play Kentucky (Friday, Feb. 24), Kansas (Saturday, Feb. 25) and Texas State (Sunday, Feb. 26).

WSU is 3-0 all-time against Kentucky, last meeting twice in 2002 at the Texas A&M Continental Express Classic in College Station. The Cougars claimed their only meeting with Kansas, 8-5 at the Pac-12/Big 12 Challenge in Arizona. WSU is 3-4 all-time against Texas State and last met in 2016 for a four-game series in San Marcos, Texas.

Games will be played at Dell Diamond in Round Rock, Texas, home of the Texas Rangers’ Triple A affiliate, the Round Rock Express. The weekend tournament will have two games per day with each team playing the other, three times in a round robin format.
