WASHDOT releases construction updates

COLUMBIA BASIN – The Washington Department of Transportation released in a Friday press release construction updates and travel advisories for Grant and Adams counties for the week of Aug. 7 to Aug. 11.

There are three active work zones in Grant County, according to the advisory. Monday and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. there will be flagger-controlled traffic and lane shifts with a mobile work zone on State Route 28, located from mileposts 22 to 25.

There will also be a fiber installation on State Route 28 which will run until Aug. 23 – from Monday to Thursday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. there will be flagger-controlled traffic with brief delays from mileposts 26 to 28. Lastly, Monday through Thursday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. the eastbound right lane will be closed on Interstate 90 from mile post 136 to mile post 138 for ITS upgrades.

The update listed only one active work zone in Adams County. From 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday milepost 74 on State Route 24 will have intermittent flagger-controlled short duration all-stops where a contractor is installing fiber.
