Bank robbery flops in Moses Lake

MOSES LAKE — An attempted bank robbery fizzled Tuesday afternoon in Moses Lake, according to a statement from the Moses Lake Police Department.

At a little before 6 p.m. Charles Alaniz, 42, of Moses Lake presented a robbery note at Gesa Credit Union in Moses Lake, according to the statement. Alaniz fled the scene without getting any money, and officers were able to identify his vehicle through video footage.

The vehicle was located at a residence on Carswell Drive in the Larson community, according to the statement. Alaniz was found there as well and taken into custody. He was booked into Grant County Jail on charges of first-degree attempted robbery.
