Long agenda for BOCC meeting
LAUREN REICHENBACH | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 2 years, 4 months AGO
I’ve spent most of my life in northeastern Washington and graduated from Eastern Washington University in 2021. After that, I spent roughly two years working for a small online newspaper in North Seattle before realizing big city living wasn’t for me. Me and my pup, Kodak, headed east, where we eventually landed in Sandpoint. When I’m not writing, you can find me spending time exercising and taking photos. I ran two half marathons in high school and after spending the past few years recovering from various injuries, I’m hoping to complete my first full marathon by the end of the year. I also love any outdoor activity, none of which would be complete without my dog. Kodak and I love going for walks and hikes, and I can’t wait to try to convince him to get in my kayak and spend the hot months of the year on Lake Pend Oreille. While he’s not a fan of baths, he sure does love chasing the ducks. | August 13, 2023 1:00 AM
The days are getting shorter and the Bonner County Board of County Commission meeting agendas are getting longer.
On the agenda for Tuesday are multiple items from Commissioner Asia Williams that have previously been on the board’s agenda in previous weeks. Williams plans to once again discuss the commissioners’ plan for moving forward with the proposed Bonner County Fairgrounds RV campground and reinstating the public comment hour during the meetings.
Additionally, the commissioner hopes to move to remove Robert’s Rules of Order from commissioner meetings as well as get approval to stream the county’s budget meetings on Zoom to allow more public participation.
Last but not least, Williams added an item that asks that members of the public be allowed to present the commissioners with information for consideration that can be placed on a later agenda.
The commissioners are also set to hear from operations manager Jessi Reinbold regarding the Idaho Department of Commerce Rural Idaho Economic Development Professional Grant Agreement. The county’s Justice Services, Emergency Management, Treasurer, Planning and Assessor department are also expected to come before the board with various requests.
The meeting will end with three executive sessions regarding human resources, risk management and prosecutor topics. Executive sessions are closed to the public to give officials a chance to discuss confidential information; however, all decisions must be made in open session.
Board of Bonner County Commission meetings are held at the Bonner County Administration building, 1500 U.S. 2; and also are livestreamed via YouTube. To access the streams, visit the Bonner County YouTube page at bit.ly/3NElj9X.
