Five local fire departments and the Montana Department of Natural Resources responded to a fire that destroyed a house on Leisure Island south of Kalispell on Sunday night.
First responders reported no injuries from the Aug. 13 blaze, but described the house as a total loss, according to a social media post made by officials with the South Kalispell Fire Department.
Volunteer firefighters from the department were first on the scene after receiving reports of smoke on the island.
Upon finding a large home engulfed in flames, the department called for assistance from Evergreen Fire Rescue, West Valley Fire and Rescue, Smith Valley Fire Department and Somers-Lakeside Fire Department.
The fire reportedly spread to nearby trees, so the state Department of Natural Resources was also called to the scene.
