Coeur d'Con celebrates 'geek culture'

Coeur d’Con is scheduled 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Coeur d'Alene Public Library.
The free event "celebrates books, movies, games, manga, comics and all expressions of geek culture."
It includes contests, games, crafts and other activities, for every age group throughout the day.
Fans are encouraged to dress to impress for Coeur d’Con. This year’s cosplay contest will be in-person. Each contestant’s photo will be taken from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Finalists will be part of the cosplay ceremony at 3 p.m.
Entries in the Coeur d’Con Fan Art Contest will be posted and voted on until the end of Coeur d’Con.
Winners will be selected by popular vote from each age category: littles (0-6), tweens (7-12), teens (13-17), and adults (18+).
There will be a “Make your own Comic Strip with Adam Roth” workshop and other interactive art activities presented by Emerge CDA.
