LEAVENWORTH — Travelers should be aware that the work schedule has been extended through Friday on a project to replace guardrails on US Highway 2 along Tumwater Canyon west of Leavenworth.

“The work schedule for this project has been Monday through Thursday. However, due to the proximity of this work with Link Transit’s roundabout project at US 2 and Icicle Road, the guardrail contractor will work Friday to expedite work through that section,” according to a press release from the Washington Department of Transportation. “This will reduce the potential for traffic control when the roundabout project goes to continuous flagger-controlled traffic.”

Crews will be working on the guardrails until noon on Friday.

“Travelers on US 2 should plan for multiple work zones on this route across the state,” the WSDOT press release said.
