SOAP LAKE — Auditions will be at 6 p.m. Aug. 27 and 28 for the Masquers Theater production of “Elf: The Musical.” Auditions will be at the theater, 322 East Main St., Soap Lake; actors only need to attend one audition session.

Clifford and Stacey Bresee are the directors. The show opens Nov. 25 and will run weekends through Dec. 16.

Auditions are open to actors from nine years of age to adult roles.

The musical is based on the 2003 film and tells the story of Buddy, who accidentally crawled into Santa’s bag when he was a baby and ended up at the North Pole. Eventually, the fact Buddy isn’t an elf becomes uncomfortably clear — Buddy is terrible at making toys and he’s way more than elf-sized. He embarks on a quest to find his birth family and to teach them about the Christmas spirit when he does find them.

People can find audition forms on the Masquers website, www.masquers.com.
