Katherine Mae Garfield, 80

It is with great sadness that the family of Katherine Mae Garfield announces her sudden passing Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2023, at the age of 80. Kathy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 54 years, Roger; daughters, Lynell and Jennifer (Jason); grandchildren Taylor, Kassidy and August; brother, John (Connie) Soron; sister Susan Waldron; sister-in-law Jan Soron; and numerous other relatives and friends. Kathy was preceded by her brother, Edward, and her parents, Edward William and Mae Jeanette.

After growing up in North Hampton, Mass., she moved to New York City to pursue a career with National Airlines. It was there in 1969 that she met the love of her life, Roger, on a blind date. They married five months after their first meeting and set off on a lifetime of adventures together. Upon retirement, Kathy and Roger spent a decade traveling, meeting new friends and exploring the United States.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
