The Daily Inter Lake is launching a monthly lunch concert series featuring Flathead Valley musicians playing in the newspaper’s warehouse.

The Press Play concert kicks off Friday, Sept. 1 with a performance by Kelly Diane, who will be sharing her talents as a singer, keyboardist and accordion player. The concert begins at noon.

“The Flathead Valley has a rich and vibrant music scene and we are so excited to be able to showcase it,” said Melissa Wells with the Inter Lake. “Press Play offers the artists a chance to perform their original songs in an intimate setting.”

The concert series is a subscriber-only benefit and tickets are available by making a donation to the newspaper’s Newspapers in Education initiative, which looks to bridge the gap between classrooms and the real world by delivering more than 130,000 free newspapers each year to schools in Flathead, Lake and Lincoln counties at a cost of nearly $35,000. Newspapers in the classroom support language, vocabulary and math skills, along with lifelong learning and encouraging students to become informed citizens.

Musical trio Tin Finley is set to perform for the second concert on Friday, Oct. 6.

Concert goers can bring their own lunch or purchase one of three lunch options from The House of S&M.
