In Loving Memory of Ton Thi Heston (Oct. 21, 1946 — Aug. 21, 2023)

With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to a woman whose life was a testament to love, strength and resilience. Ton Thi Heston, was born to Nguyen Nuoc Bau and Luong Thi Doi on Oct. 21, 1946, in Saigon, Vietnam. Ton's life was intertwined with history and love. During the Vietnam War, she met the love of her life, Jack William Heston, of Minneapolis, Minn. Their union led her to new shores and was sealed in matrimony June 24, 1969, in America.

Ton and Jack raised three daughters in the mountains of Post Falls, Idaho — Elaine Damschen, Anna Mcvay and Lisa Perry. Ton exemplified dedication in her professional life, contributing her talents to companies like Advanced Input Systems and Altec while maintaining a sense of humor and a radiant smile that brightened the lives of those around her.

Even in the later years of her life, Ton remained a symbol of vitality. Her daily 15-mile walks through the streets of Coeur d'Alene showcased her unyielding spirit and determination. Yet, life's challenges were not without their trials. A medical setback four years ago diminished her ability to walk, and her health gradually waned.

Surrounded by the love of her family, Ton peacefully departed this world Aug. 21, 2023, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever be etched in our hearts. She is survived by her beloved husband, Jack Heston, her adoring daughters Elaine (husband Todd), Anna (husband Bud), and Lisa (husband Hoot), as well as her nine grandchildren — Hunter (fiance Sammi), Rhett (partner Brittinay), Emily, Cole, Luke, Hudson, Asia and Elijah — each a testament to the legacy of love she leaves behind. Ton's great-grandson, Beckhem, will grow up hearing stories of her grace, strength and unwavering love.

In our grief, let us remember Ton for the remarkable woman she was — a loving wife, a devoted mother, a cherished grandmother and a friend to all who had the honor of crossing her path. As we mourn her passing, may we also celebrate a life well-lived and a soul that has found its peace.
