Royal began its 2022 season with a 34-6 win on the road against Toppenish, a rematch of the 2021 1A quarterfinals. Senior receiver Edgar De La Rosa (7) caught 3 touchdown passes in the win.

Royal’s lone loss last season was against Lynden Christian in a 21-14 contest on Sept. 24. After the Week 4 loss, the Knights outscored their opponents 270-15 in the remaining five regular season games.
Senior running back Kaleb Hernandez (32) evades defenders. The 2022 playoffs began at home for Royal, who opened with a 41-7 win over Cascade Christian.

In the state semifinals, the Knights defeated Freeman 57-14 to make it back to the 1A state championship game once again.
Royal sophomore Lance Allred catches a touchdown pass in the state championship game against Mt. Baker. Allred, a junior now, is playing quarterback for the Knights in 2023.
The Royal Knights won their third-straight state championship, defeating Mt. Baker 35-20 at Harry Lang Stadium in Lakewood last December.
The Knights enter the 2023 season seeking their fourth-straight title.

Wildcats athletics reveals 2026 Hall of Fame inductees
ELLENSBURG — On Monday, Central Washington athletics announced in a statement the names for the 2026 athletic Hall of Fame class. Jean and Joe Adams (Spirit of Central), Catie Fry (Volleyball), Zak Hill (Football), and Dr. Richard Roux (Meritorious Service).
Van Dyke signs contract extension through 2030
SEATTLE — Having led the Huskies to one of the most successful seasons in program history, Washington women's soccer Head Coach Nicole Van Dyke has signed a contract extension through the 2030 season, according to a statement by UW Athletics.

VERMILLION, S. Dakota — The fourth quarter is where the excitement is for Eastern Washington women's basketball as they complete another comeback. Eastern defeated South Dakota 67-63 on Saturday afternoon to go 2-0 in the Big Sky-Summit League Challenge. The Eagles improve to 5-4 on the season, while USD falls to 8-2.
