Ronan boys place second, girls third at Ranch Run

The Ronan boys placed second at the Grant-Kohrs Ranch Run in Deer Lodge on Saturday, Aug. 26, led by junior Jacob Piapot, who placed fifth with a time of 18:25.54.

Junior Tayen Emo finished 10th for Ronan – earning the Chiefs two top-ten finishes with a time of 19:13.91. Junior Koda King was 12th for Ronan (19:18.47) while freshman William Normandeau was 15th (19:48.89).

Mission finished third as a team, and Bulldog junior Harlon Leishman finished third with a time of 17:59.74. Senior Hayden Smith was 11th (19:15.14) and sophomore Jake Helser was the third Bulldog runner in the top 20 at 21:11.14 to place 19th.

On the girls' side, Mission sophomore Elsie Detert placed seventh with a time of 24:07.93. Ronan sophomore Maddie Duffey was 13th (26:24.02) while Arlee freshman Lilybelle Buffalo was 14th (26:27.79).

The Ronan girls placed third as a team, also getting a 19th place finish from Annie Adams (28:58.50) and a 22nd place finish from Gracie Heiner (29:38.34).
