Arthur Allen Smith, 85

Arthur Allen Smith of Post Falls, Idaho, passed away at his home of natural causes Nov. 26, 2023. Arthur, better known to his family and friends as “Art” was born in Park Rapids Minn., on Oct. 26, 1938, to Margaret S. Smith and Albert J. Smith. 

Living and working on the family farm, he was joined by two brothers and two sisters, preparing him for a lifetime occupation in farming. Art came to Idaho with his family in 1960 and worked on many farms until settling in Post Falls in 1964, where he and his parents lived on property he purchased from his uncle, Jim Smith. Art was employed by Manning Schneidmiller Farms until he retired.  

In retirement, Art enjoyed working on and driving his vehicles, mowing his lawn, lunches at Post Falls Senior Center and spending time with family and friends. Art loved to cook, making large pots of chili, baking cakes and carving watermelons were just part of his enjoyment in life. Art is survived by his brother, Leonard Smith, sister Donna Roberts, sister Sharon Hiatt and brother Wayne Smith, three nieces and one nephew.

Arthur chose cremation and his remains were placed at Evergreen Cemetery, Mountain View Niche. 

Art was loved and will be missed by many.
