The picks are in for the 2023 Western B Football All-Conference teams, and to no one’s surprise, Thompson Falls’ massive down lineman Hayden Hanks brought home the most hardware.

Hanks, a 6-4 270 pound senior offensive and defensive linemen for the Blue Hawks 2023 playoff team was named to the All-State team for Class B, 11-man football team, as well as first team defensive lineman and second team offensive lineman for the Conference.

Earlier this year, Hanks signed a football scholarship to play for Boise State University, a Division I school in the NCAA Mountain West Conference.

Also named to the postseason teams were Thompson Falls seniors Nick Tessier, a Western Conference second team pick as a defensive back, and Blue Hawks’ linebacker Bryson LeCoure, who was made the second team as a junior.

T Falls senior Max Hannum, who last year won the state Class B 170-pound wrestling title, also made the first team unit in football as a linebacker.

Eureka and eventual state champion Florence dominated the area all-star selections with multiple players named, including five All-State selections honoring players from Florence. The Falcons won the state championship via a 21-14 win over Manhattan this past weekend.

Thompson Falls, playing just it’s second year of 11-man football after winning the B-8 state title in 2021, advanced to the first round of this year’s playoffs before falling to Red Lodge in the opening round.
