QUINCY — Tickets are on sale through Dec. 15 for the Cops & Kids Raffle, according to an announcement from the Quincy Police Department.

Money raised through the raffle goes to provide necessities to local families at Christmas, the announcement said. Prizes include a comic book basket, a 36-inch Blackstone griddle, golf for four at Colockum Ridge and various collectibles. Tickets are $10 apiece or five for $40, and can be purchased at the Quincy Police Department or by contacting Det. Jazzlynn Silva at 509-797-3555.

The drawing will take place at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 15, according to the QPD. 

MOSES LAKE — Shoeboxes filled with gifts will go out to thousands of children around the world through Operation Christmas Child, according to an announcement from Samaritan’s Purse, which organizes the giveaway.

Tens of thousands of volunteers contributed by packing shoeboxes filled with fun toys, school supplies, and personal care items, according to the announcement. The global Christmas project will deliver these gift-filled shoeboxes to children in more than 100 countries, including many who are suffering from war, poverty, disease and disaster.

People who would like to donate can build a shoebox online at https://bit.ly/3Ne44vc. Shoeboxes built online go to some of the hardest-to-reach areas in the world, the announcement said. Donors can select gifts matched to a child’s specific age and gender, then finish packing the virtual shoebox by adding a photo and personal note of encouragement.

WENATCHEE — Local residents are invited to learn more about public utility districts and clean energy according to an announcement from the Grant PUD.

Grant PUD, along with Chelan and Douglas PUDs, will hold the Clean Energy Expo on Dec. 14 at the Wenatchee Valley Convention Center, according to the announcement. The expo will explore options like solar, hydrogen, wind and nuclear power for meeting the region’s future energy needs. A session will be held for public agencies and elected officials from 8:30 to 11 a.m., another for businesses and non-profits from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and a third for the general public from 2 to 6 p.m.
