LCHS students raising funds for local families
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 2 years AGO
Economic students from Lake City High School have set a big goal to collect $12,000 for local families they are "adopting" this holiday season.
Through their Give Back Project, students have been reaching out to friends, family members and local businesses to support their cause. They've also held events, including a waffle fundraiser earlier this month.
Last year's efforts brought in over $10,000.
At the end of the project, students will spend the funds on gifts and needed items for the families.
"They have a budget for the families based on the money they have raised," Lake City economics teacher Matt Ruchti said. "It is a great way to work on curriculum, while giving back to their community."
The last day to collect donations is Monday. For those who wish to donate, checks may be made out to Lake City High School. All businesses that donate with company checks, addresses included, will receive forms for tax write-offs.
Checks can be sent to Lake City High School, 6101 Ramsey Road, Coeur d'Alene, ID 83815.
