Lady Bobcats lose to Seeley-Swan, Charlo

The season is young and the good news for the Superior girls is the only place to go is up.
That first win came early in the year against Victor. Other wins are on the way. Coach Jeff Schultz wouldn’t have it any other way.
But for now, the Lady Bobcats continue to search for an identity having lost a pair of basketball games this past week.
The competition was tops, but the results were the same...for now.
Friday night the Lady Cats fell to Seeley Swan on the road, dropping a 51-31 decision to the Lady Blackhawks.
They returned home Saturday evening to take on always tough Charlo and lost 51-27, dropping the Cats to 1-3 on the year.
Friday night Seeley Swana came to town and got off to an early lead and never looked back as the Blackhawks moved their official record to 2-1 on the 2023-24 season.
Things did not get any easier Saturday night for the Lady Cats as they traveled to Charlo to take on the Vikings. Charlo jumped out to a quick 9-0 lead over the Cats and held a 14-6 advantage at the end of the first quarter.
Then, as if a harbinger of good things to come, the Cats battled the Viking even up at 10-each in quarter number two, making the score 24-16 at the half.
But Charlo came out shooting in the second half, outscoring Superior 27-11 over the final two quarters to secure the win.
Eddy Betts led the Lady Cats in scoring with eight points, while teammate Braelynn Mangold added seven to the Superior effort.
Sheadon Kaine led all scorers with 18 points for the game for Charlo, which also got 13 points from Shonlea Matt.
Superior closes out its pre-Holiday schedule this week with a road game versus Darby this Thursday (Dec 21). They return home the next evening to play Eureka’s Lady Lions.
