The Libby girls basketball team had a slow start against Hamilton Thursday in a 45-21 loss.

The Broncs came into the contest at 2-5 following a 54-31 loss to Bigfork on Dec. 19.

But they jumped out to a 16-2 lead after one quarter of play. Hamilton led 22-2 in the second quarter before Libby junior Kaydence Stanek grabbed a rebound off a missed free throw and hit a 3-pointer with 1:48 left in the half. Stanek added a free throw with 42 seconds left, but Hamilton still held a 23-6 lead.

Stanek hit a few baskets and junior Madison Vincent drained a 3 for the Lady Loggers, but the Broncs still led by 19 after three quarters, 34-15.

The Lady Loggers hosted Corvallis Friday evening, but the game ended after press time. They’ll have a holiday break before returning to action on Thursday, Jan. 4 at home against Bigfork.
