COLUMBIA BASIN – Local teams in the Basin will wrap up their regular seasons this week, with district competitions beginning as soon as Thursday when the Moses Lake boys swim and dive team hosts its district meet. Check out this week’s Basin sports schedule, which includes a Saturday full of district wrestling tournaments.

Wednesday, Feb.1

Lind-Ritzville girls, boys basketball at Upper Columbia Academy - 6, 7:30 p.m.

Thursday, Feb. 2

Moses Lake boys swim and dive district meet - 4 p.m., hosted at Moses Lake.

Othello girls, boys basketball at Ellensburg - 6, 7:30 p.m.

Quincy girls, boys basketball vs Cascade (Leavenworth) - 5:45, 7:15 p.m.

Warden girls, boys basketball vs River View - 6, 7:30 p.m.

Wilson Creek girls, boys basketball at Cascade Christian - 6, 7:30 p.m.

Friday, Feb. 3

Ephrata girls, boys basketball vs Selah - 6, 7:30 p.m.

Moses Lake girls, boys basketball vs West Valley (Yakima) - 5:45, 7:30 p.m.

Moses Lake cheerleading at State Cheer - Mavs perform in 3A/4A Tumbling Coed at 8:40 p.m. at Battle Ground High School.

Soap Lake girls, boys basketball at Riverside Christian - 6, 7:30 p.m.

Wahluke girls, boys basketball vs Royal - 6, 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, Feb. 4

ACH wrestling at Northeast B Championships - begins at 10:30, hosted at ACH.

Class 2A District 5/6 Boys Wrestling Championships - begins at 9 a.m., hosted at Ellensburg High School. Includes Ephrata, Othello.

District 5 2A/1A/2B Girls Sub-Regionals - hosted at Selah, includes Othello, Warden.

District 6 2A/1A/2B Girls Wrestling Tournament - begins at 10 a.m., includes Ephrata, Quincy.

District 7/9 boys wrestling tournament - begins at 10 a.m., includes Lind-Ritzville.

Lind-Ritzville girls wrestling at Girls Sub-Regional - begins at 10:30 a.m. at Liberty. Includes Royal, Wahluke.

Moses Lake cheerleading at State Cheer - Mavs perform in 3A/4A Tumbling Coed at 7 p.m. at Battle Ground High School.

Eastern defeated South Dakota 67-63 on Saturday afternoon to go 2-0 in the Big Sky-Summit League Challenge. The Eagles improve to 5-4 on the season, while USD falls to 8-2.

CHENEY – Eastern fell in straight sets to Sacramento State on Wednesday night, according to a statement from EWU athletics. The Eagles were led by Kalista Lukovich and Alyssa Radke with seven kills apiece, while Elle Bruegman anchored the defense with 14 digs. Eastern also continued to showcase one of its season-long strengths at the net, out-blocking the Hornets 9–3 with seven solo blocks.
