One dies in Quincy accident

QUINCY - Grant County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a one-vehicle accident in the 10000 block of Winchester Road NW near Quincy at about 11:20 p.m. Friday evening after a nearby homeowner called 911 after hearing a crash.
Sean Witte, 29, of Ephrata was driving a 2008 Ford F250 north and had failed to negotiate a curve, causing the pickup t roll several times. Witte was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the pickup and died at the scene.
Based on evidence at hand, investigators believe excessive speed was a significant factor in the accident.

OTHELLO — State Route 26 is closed due to a fatality collision between a car and a semitruck near South Booker Road about four miles east of Othello, according to information from the Washington State Patrol and the Washington Department of Transportation.
