The Bigfork Art and Cultural Center is gearing up for more community classes this month. New assistant director Giovanna Carlson will host a weekly Beginners Line Dancing class starting on Feb. 8 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Pre-registration is required and costs $20 per class, or $70 for four classes.
Yupo printmaking with Annie Allen will teach new techniques of blending color and creating beautiful images through Yupo printmaking using watercolor paper. All supplies are included as you create several pieces during this three hour workshop. The first class is scheduled for Feb. 16 from 1-4 p.m. The second class is scheduled for Feb. 17 from 3:30-6:30 p.m.
Annie Allen returns to the BACC on Feb. 18 to teach painting on fiber. Creations on heavy unstretched canvas create a soft illusion. Participants will use palette knives and large brushes to represent birds in flight and resting, as well as using a combination of dyes and acrylics on canvas that have been gessoed.
Carlson will begin holding an all-style dance class every Saturday starting on Feb. 18. The class will include many different kinds of dancing, including partner and solo dances. Partner styles include two-step, swing and salsa, and other styles like jazz and hip hop will round out the course. Pre-registration is required and costs $20 per class, or $70 for four classes.
The BACC will begin their Homeschool Integrated Art Program at the end of the month on Feb. 23. Their six week curriculum will include art, music and movement. For students kindergarten through fourth grade, find out more information on their website at baccbigfork.org or by calling (406) 837-6927.
