After an extended injury and illness, Peggy Oldendorph, 86, of Hayden, Idaho, passed away on a chilly pink sunset afternoon Jan. 28, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. She would often call to tell me when the sky was pink and purple, and say “Have you LOOKED outside? It’s stunning!” — She picked a perfect evening to fly … it didn’t go un-noticed, Mom.

Peggy was born in Willow Grove, Pa., on Nov. 30, 1936, to William Norman Ball and Margaret Pearl White-Ball. She was the middle of three children. After graduating high school, Peggy started her family and their journey took them to Southern California, where she met and married Bob Oldendorph, and together their blended family continued to grow. Her life travels with Bob allowed them to raise their family in many different places; Southern and Northern, California, North/Central, New Jersey, Mt. Pocono, Pa., and after Bob’s retirement, settling in beautiful Hayden, North Idaho.

Peggy felt at peace here with Bob and she has truly missed him since his passing almost 12 years ago. She loved her home, the flowers and all the changing seasons that come with North Idaho. Peggy was a devoted wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma and was currently enamored with Miss Daisy Mae (an endearing shih-tzu), as much as she was to her. She misses you already!

She is survived by her children: Bill and Elaine Wagner, Henderson, Nev.; Wendy Fehlings, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; Patti Felice, Washington, N.J.; Beth Lange, Hayden, Idaho; grandchildren: Jennifer, Joe, Nick, Natalie, Michael, Sara, Jonathan, Katie, Jordan and so many great-grandchildren.

Peggy is preceded in death by her husband, Bob Oldendorph; her older brother, Norrie Ball, who she was looking forward to meeting for the first time; her sister, Suzanne; and her great-grandson, Connor Langford, who we know is anxiously waiting to see his “Sweetie.”

Our family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Hospice of North Idaho and the staff at The Lodge at Fairway Forest. Your care and support has been appreciated.

Yates Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Please visit Peggy’s online memorial and sign her guest book at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
