POST FALLS — In many years, the Coeur d’Alene-Post Falls dual was perhaps the top dual in the area.

But this year, with Coeur d’Alene rebuilding and Post Falls still strong, that wasn’t the case.

On senior night, Post Falls seniors Zack Campbell (126 pounds), John Rudebaugh (160), Jose Laguna (170), Keanyn DeGroat (182), Gentry Smith (195) and Trevor Miller (220) all notched victories as the Trojans rolled past the Vikings 72-12 at The Arena.

“The seniors wrestled really well,” Post Falls coach Pete Reardon said. “Our seniors all won; it was really cool for them.”

Alyssa Randles, one of the top girl wrestlers in the country, led Campbell late in their 126-pound match, before rallied for the pin midway through the third period.

“She’s a tough kid, she’s super skilled and athletic, she found a way to score some points at the end of rounds,” Reardon said of Randles. “He just found a way, he got a cradle and got a takedown.”

Coeur d’Alene had three wins, including a pin from Tanner George (113).

“We’ve had a great duals with them over the years, this year just didn’t happen to be one of them,” Coeur d’Alene coach Jeff Moffat said. “They (the Trojans) have been pounding on everybody. We could have gone over there with an army and not gotten out of there with a win.”

Next up is the 5A Region 1 tournament next Saturday at Coeur d’Alene High.
