Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 3 years, 6 months AGO
David Roger Lepire, age 84, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023, in hospice care at Schneidmiller House in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He was the ninth of 11 siblings born to his mother, Nell, and his father, Ovala Lepire, in North Dakota.
Educated at Long Beach City College, David received his B.A in Liberal Arts, and is M.B.A at the University of Phoenix.
While serving in the United States Navy as a young man, David was known as Petty Officer Lepire, who ended his military career valiantly and with honor.
After marrying Theo Lepire on June 7, 1969, David adopted her three little girls Dawn, Janell and Arianne. Shortly after David and Theo had a fourth daughter, Andrea, who completed their family. He loved and helped raise his four daughters into adulthood, for which he once described the experience as, “one of the greatest honors of his life.”
This news is shocking and devastating to those who knew the kind of man David was. A man whose spirit and personality lit up a room. An effervescent character, full of quick-wit, hilarity, and enveloping love for his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Theo Lepire. His four daughters, Dawn Lepire, Janell Ritzenthaler, Arianne Lepire and Andrea Prete. His five grandchildren, Nick Lepire, Kelsey Hughes, Hyla Prete, Ulysses Prete and Philomena Prete. And his three great-grandchildren, Cora Lepire, June Hughes and Colson Lepire.
