Phyllis Emehiser age 76 of Smiths Station, Ala., passed away peacefully at home, Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023. A celebration of Phyllis’s life will be held in Parkhill Cemetery at the Chapel of the Pines Mausoleum, 4161 Macon Road Columbus, Ga., Friday, Feb. 25, 2023, at 2 p.m. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service staring at 1 p.m.

Phyllis was born in Jessup, Ga., to her late parents, Wilbert and Mildred Kicklight Brennen. Phyllis was an Army wife and moved several places before settling in Smiths Station. Her previous station was in Carson City, Nev., where she was an assistant to the bus driver, helping disabled children on and off the bus. Phyllis had a big heart and loved helping those who were not as fortunate as herself. She had a huge garden and shared with friends. She loved animals, shopping, gardening and her loving husband. Phyllis will always be in the hearts and minds of those who loved her.

Along with her parents, Phyllis is preceded by in death her beloved son, Chandler “Chance” Hudson.

She is survived by her adoring husband, Joe Emehiser; daughter Kim Hudson; sister Jannet (Mike) Lassiter, and brother Wilbert Kerry Brennen; stepdaughters Stacy Golar and Darcy Emehiser; stepson Derick Emehiser; other family members and many friends
