NIC: More info needed on Swayne
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 2 years, 11 months AGO
Lora Whalen’s letter in The Press’ Jan. 4 edition alluded to NIC President Nick Swayne’s having served on a “… city’s (unnamed) school board” in Virginia. The media has recently devoted a lot of time bringing to national attention to the issue of parental versus school board and/or teacher unions’ control over what and how learning takes place in that state’s K-12 public education system.
It would be interesting to know the specific school board on which Dr. Swayne served, in what capacity he served and his position on the parental versus school board and/or teacher union control issue … then and now. Seems like something Ms. Whalen and those responsible for vetting Dr. Swayne might consider worthy of sharing with your readers or, if unknown, investigating.
