The Wampus Cats played strong against Sandpoint on Wednesday night at home, and by the time the buzzer sounded, Clark Fork had a 52-47 victory.

“This was a hard-fought game; both teams fought hard,” Clark Fork head coach Heath Beason said.

Nathan Shelton had 17 rebounds and 10 points for Clark Fork and Ethan Howard had 16 points.

“I believe at the end of the evening we did a few more things in order to get the victory,” Beason said.

JV player Wil Leisy scored 15 points for the Bulldogs while Sage Medeiros added another 12 points.

“I appreciated that they were able to come out and play us,” Beason said. “They’re a well-coached team and played really hard.”

Clark Fork plays Lakeside at Lakeside on Friday and Sandpoint hosts Priest River on Saturday.
