PREP WRESTLING: Post Falls pins down Thunder Ridge in River City tuneup

POST FALLS — Post Falls sophomore Jared Wallace notched a 19-4 technical fall win over Kaden Scott of Thunder Ridge as the host Trojans won 11 matches via pin en route to a 77-12 win over the Titans of Idaho Falls on Thursday at The Arena.

Post Falls will host the annual River City Duals tournament this weekend, starting today at 4 p.m.

Lake City takes two

in Rocky Mountain tuneup

POLSON, Mont. — After an early setback, Lake City coach Corey Owen told his team to focus on getting back on track with two more duals scheduled for Thursday night.

Lake City fell to Columbia Falls 54-13, then beat Whitefish 54-15 and Polson 59-15 in a tuneup for the Rocky Mountain Classic, which begins today at Sentinel High in Missoula.

“I told our guys to forget about that Columbia Falls dual,” Owen said. “We battled hard, but it was nice to see the kids bounce back against Polson and Whitefish.

Zach MacDonald (113) and Garrett Leonard (170) went unbeaten on the night for the Timberwolves.

“Zach was super dominant tonight,” Owen said. “Garrett is just making progress all the time and is headed in the right direction. I think he’s going to have a good weekend.”
