Parents and children ages 3 to 8 are invited to participate Saturday with the Symphony at 11 a.m. Jan. 21 at the Coeur d’Alene Public Library.

There is no cost to attend and organizers promise 45 minutes of fun.

A hands-on drums/percussion opportunity for children, members of the Coeur d’Alene Symphony will provide kids and their families with a rhythm and drumming experience.

Saturday with the Symphony is a longstanding collaboration of the Coeur d’Alene Public Library and the Coeur d’Alene Symphony Orchestra.

Saturday with the Symphony is geared toward younger children. These events are held the third Saturday of each month at the Coeur d’Alene Library.

Small chamber groups typically perform during Saturday with the Symphony.

“We’ve had duets, trios, quartets and quintets perform both orchestra and more specialized music; jazz, singer-songwriters and, this month, a drum circle,” said the symphony’s announcement of the event.
