Jimmy Shepherd, 70

Jimmy Shepherd passed away Jan. 9, 2023. He was born Nov. 27, 1952, in Oakland, Calif., to Heber and Rowena (Guice) Shepherd. He was the first of five boys.
Jim graduated high school in 1971 from Fairfield High School in Fairfield, Calif. After graduation, Jim joined the U.S. Navy from 1971 to 1975 as a lab technician.
Jimmy moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, in 1980 to be closer to his parents and younger brother.
While in Idaho, Jim joined and served several years with the Army National Guard. He then went on to receive his LPN and was a part of the JC’s (Junior Chamber Organization.)
Jim loved Coeur d’Alene and all the outdoor activities it has to offer, his favorites were knee boarding, water Skiing and riding his bike all over downtown. He also enjoyed dancing, blues music and being social with everyone. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Jimmy is survived by his three children, Kristy Shepherd, California, Jarrod Shepherd, California, and his daughter, Vanessa, locally. His mother, Rowena Shepherd, four younger brothers, John, Jeff, Jerome and Jerald Shepherd. Several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Heber “Shep” Shepherd.
